Hi, I am trying to use the "check_dhcp" pluggin to check dhcp leases, etc.
on production servers.
I keep getting the following error:
root at nagios:/usr/lib/nagios/plugins# ./check_dhcp -v
DHCP socket: 3
Error: Could not bind socket to interface eth0. Check your privileges...
After ensuring the permissions are set correctly (-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root
34344 2010-02-04 07:09 check_dhcp* )
and attempting to run the binary executable from to root account, I still
get the same error.
What else can I check ?
Note: Nagios pluggins are running the following level:
./check_tcp -V
check_tcp v1.4.14 (nagios-plugins 1.4.14)
root at nagios:/usr/lib/nagios/plugins#
