[Nagiosplug-help] Timeout problem with check_http

I'm running into a bizarre problem with check_http...  Trying to check our
production server, I'm getting a socket timeout.  I can connect fine with a
web browser.  I can connect fine telnetting by hand to port 80.  But trying to
run check_http times out.

The really bizarre thing is that I ran it under strace to see if I could fine
the problem.  When run through strace... it works!  Times in <10 seconds.  If
I increase the timeout to something on the order of 30 seconds, it seems to
work most of the time, even without strace.  I'm baffled, to say the least.

This is on a Linux machine, latest versions of nagios and the plugins.  The
server is an AIX server using IBM's Web Traffic Express.  I have tried against
other WTE servers, and have not run into any problems.
