[Nagiosplug-help] Pending

Hello
redhat 8.0

On several of the plug-ins it states pending and a big P next to
status.  Each time it passes the time it would have checked it
reschedules a time.  

HTTP
Active checks of the service have been disabled - only passive checks
are being accepted
PENDING N/A 0d 0h 16m 2s+ 0/3 Service check scheduled for Sat Nov 23
19:15:02 2002

what does this mean?
