[Nagiosplug-help] How can I check printers?

Is there someway to monitor printers? There are cases in where printers are connected straight to linux or windows computer and that computer works as a lpd (daemon), and some printers are connected directly to network. Pinging isn't enough, there was one case when the ping was working ok, but printer was totally jammed.
Is there some plugins already which I can use, I have to say that I haven't noticed...
