Sure there are.
Once you extract the plugins tarball and cd to the newly created plugins
directory, you'll find there are plenty. AUTHORS, ChangeLog, CODING,
COPYING, FAQ, INSTALL, LEGAL, NEWS, README, REQUIREMENTS, and SUPPORT
are all there in the top level directory. Not to mention that most (if
not all) plugins can be run with the -h or --help parameters.
There's also a 'plugins' section in the Nagios FAQ, which can be found
at http://www.nagios.org/faqs/, as well as a 'Nagios Plugins' section in
the Nagios Documentation at
http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/1_0/toc.html.
