[Nagiosplug-help] check_udp

I am trying to implement the check_mailq and the check_nagios for 
nagios-plugins 1.3.0.
there are a few problems i am facing with it.

1) how are we supposed to use the host name or the host address as both 
check_mailq & check_nagios use the check_udp command and i am not able to 
use this properly. i always get the "host name was not supplied" message.

if i use it then i get the message that nothing was returned. i.e. i get 
the message "(No output returned from plugin)".
due to this, i have an unknown in my service detail.

could anyone please explain me how to use the check_udp and check_mailq , check_nagios to use in nagios-plgins 1.3.0.
