[Nagiosplug-help] CHECK_PING and host checks

Just to be sure, have you defined a PING as a service for that
host? Nagios
won't check the host status if there is no any problems with services
assigned to that host. Btw, this is documented.

If you've already defined PING service, you should check is there
active_checks_enabled  directive set to 1 in your PING service definition?
