Make sure the nagios server's ip is listed in the allowed_hosts variable 
in nrpe.conf (or nrpe.cfg).

You should have received a message like
nrpe[pid] <ip> is not allowed to talk with us. <blahblah>

The ip mentioned there is the one you have to add.
