Greetings all,
I have two solaris systems that are acting wonky. While doing some file
work, I accidently botched the directory where nagios resided (I was
making a installation package for my network). So thinking nothing of
it, I peek real quick to make sure that I'm not missing anything
important in the monitoring and recreate it (NRPE) on the two systems
(they're shared NFS systems).
So I go back to my nagios console to see if everything picked up, and I
show 2 unknown in my status summary. Looking at them it's the CHECK_NTP
plugin. But when I troubleshoot them, everything seems fine...
----
/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_ntp -H tick -w 60 -c 120
NTP OK: Offset 0.004040 secs
---
/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_ntp -H tick -w 60 -c 120 -v
server 10.33.x.x, stratum 2, offset 0.015279, delay 0.04277
ntperr = 0
3 May 10:15:54 ntpdate[9893]: adjust time server 10.33.x.x offset
0.015279 sec
ntperr = 0
dc01.x.x.x: timed out, nothing received
NTP OK: Offset 0.015279 secs
---
But the console states:
xxxx Solaris 9 on Sun V240 NTP UNKNOWN 05-03-2006 10:22:34 4d 23h 44m
36s 3/3 NTP UNKNOWN: Jitter too high
---
Ideas? Is there a way to fire the command manually (through telnet) that
I can try to figure out why it's tossing this event? Anything!!!
Thanks!
