[Nagiosplug-help] Nagios.log problem

We have active and passive nagios checks running.  We are experiencing a
problem where all of our passive checks are being written to the
nagios.log file but not all of our active checks.  Has anyone
experienced this same problem?   

Any help would be appreciated,
