[Nagiosplug-help] Adding Hosts and email notification in NAGIOS help

Help me please  I am new for nagios



OS Fedora 8

Nagios -3.0b6

Nagios-Plugins 1.4.10



I followed the above documentation

vi /usr/local/nagios/etc/objects/contacts.cfg



I didn't edit any thing in the above file.

Please let me know what are the thing ie email id host name shall I need to add



Verify the sample Nagios configuration files.

/usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg



But no errors.



I want to know where I need to edit / add the host name and I need to
get the email notifications if any host/services is down.

Can you please help me  with examples of contacts.cfg and hosts.cfg
