If you put a feature request in sourceforge for check_icmp I will
consider it when I have time...

In the mean time, a quick fix could be using the following configure option:

- --with-ping-command=SYNTAX sets syntax for ICMP ping

Look for the output of "--with-ping-command" at the end of the configure
run, and just re-use it with your option to allow fragmentation.
