Hi Gayan,
It's as Ton said - the wait is caused by your server trying to resolve something in DNS and failing; for some reason, this seems to take a really long time to timeout. Make sure your server can resolve everything that it needs to, including its own hostname. Failing that, you could also try this:
./configure --enable-redhat-pthread-workaround
Which I've seen mentioned as a viable workaround on a couple of discussion boards.
