This is a known gnulib bug - tried to fix it some time ago but for some
reason I don't remember, it never made it to the code repository. It may
have broke some other things, or maybe the bug just wasn't fixed.

You can try one of these snapshots from
http://dermoth.users.sourceforge.net/snapshot/:

If you get an error with these please let me know, I'll try some newer
version and if it's still broken I can report any bug to their mailing list.
