I have the same issue but Thomas Guyot-Sionnest wrote me a couple weeks ago:

The latest snapshot (nagios-plugins-master.tar.gz) here should fix your
issue:
http://nagiosplug.sourceforge.net/snapshot/

I had no time to verify it but maybe you can try it.
