monitoring services via SQL Availability Group in Azure

Hello,
We have an Availability Group set up for SQL in Azure and would like to monitor several items - up/down status, whether a service is running, and a custom command to check SPNs. Typically these are monitored over port 12489. However, the Availability Group only allows traffic over one specific port. I've specified this port in the individual commands, as well as set the check_nt port number in nsclient.ini to this port, with service restarts. I continue to receive an "UNKNOWN - Socket timeout after 10 seconds" error for the service check, and a time out for the host as well. I have looked online in many places without luck, and am unsure what else I can do. Is it possible to force all checks for an AG to go over one specific port? Note: this AG is abstracted from the host level, and as such does not have its own .ini file. This could possibly be the limiting factor.

Thanks for any help you can provide, or if you can point me in the right direction that would be helpful as well.
