[Nagiosplug-help] how to add new host

 Dear sir, 
           We had downloaded nagios and installed in our network. We have some problems which is adding new hosts and services. We can able to monitor only the list which is given in the hosts.cfg (sample file). If we try to add a new entry for host in the hosts.cfg file, then the nagios fails to start. How do we add new hosts and services. Kindly guide us.
